TEST Welcome !
WORK PARTY 2005 on 5th MARCH Starting at 10.00(Notice (MS Word .DOC 50kb) , Plan of Works (PDF 9kb)) Last Modified: 04 February 2008 Over the coming months it is my intention to re-start editing this website on a regular basis since I will be less busy at work and who knows I may even acquire a computer to use at home ;-). As a start I have put up the 2004 Season results. One thing I have noticed is that we sailed more races than have been recorded in the results book so could I PLEASE ask that Race Officers ensure that results are put in the book AFTER completion of the races otherwise the official results get out of sync. with the results remembered by members and in some cases have the trophies for events that the official results say they didn't win !. Anyway under the surface there is a lot happening at the club. A major re-vamp of the club programme is underway which should improve dissemination of information to new members as well as making things look more professional. Also the way the club handles its club boats and maintenance procedures for them has been improved with the appointment of Dave Lincoln as the Club Bosun (unpaid and purely voluntary). The regular Friday evening social meet ups are going to continue throughout the Off-Season so if you would like to pop in for a drink and chat (or play the odd game or two) then please pop by, the club is open from about 19.00 on Fridays we normally have a meal first (contact Lesley Stafford first to avoid disappointment if you want to be fed). We have done Salsa dancing, Giant Jenga and played cards in recent weeks. On 27th December the club had its first Christmas walk and this attracted about 15 members and families. The 10k walk was a little muddy but took in such 'sights' as South Swale Nature Reserve and various bits of farmland. It was tackled at a leisurely pace, first to finish was Peter Reynolds, closely followed by Steve Sobey, Martin Searle and Lynn Reynolds (not that it was a race or anything! ;-) ). M.A.Searle, Webmaster. Thanks to Steve Sobey and all at Hackney Press for their help with creating club logos and the SSC Programme for 2005.
