Sally Forth TrophyFor results click hereBack to 2006 EventsRace 1 + 2Both of these races were Abandoned due to high winds (34mph) and a low wind chill (-10) Race 3 + 4Both of these races were abandoned due to high winds (23mph) and low wind chill (-8) Race 5Wind: 23mph SW Wind chill: 6o -Overcast and very gusty Four boats took to the water today, three from the dinghy class and 1 from the cat class. After a capsize from Martin in his laser, following a sudden wind change, it was Ben Saunders who won the race for the dinghies In the cat class only one person was brave enough to venture out on to the water. Following a capsize on the second lap, Kevin won the race managing 4 laps of the triangular course in only 16 min. Thats about twice as quick as the dinghy class. Race 6Wind: 20mph SW Wind chill: 7o -Overcast and very gusty Only three boats took to the water for this race, as Kevin who had sailed the dart 15 in race 5 had broken his traveller when he had capsized. This race had its own exciting events, Dave Lincoln in the Solo capsized following a bad start. but seemed to pick up pace as the race went on, and finished in 3rd. The Laser With Martin in control and the Laser 4.7 with Ben Saunders in control, were battling it out all the way round. In the end Martin just managed to get in front of Ben in the final leg of the final lap.
A Big thank you goes out to all the duty teams who turned up to do there duty and provided some excellent racing (Even if some of the racing was abandoned due to the wind!!)
