This event was quiet well attended, with a variety of curry it suited everybody's tastes one way or another.

1st April 2006    Fitting Out Supper

The Fitting Out Supper was once again a big success, and I'm sure, was enjoyed by all!

Excellent food was provided by Lesley Stafford; Chicken Casserole with roast potatoes and vegetables followed by fruit pie and custard or fruit salad.

This was all followed by a light hearted game of giant Jenga.

Thanks go to all who helped out with the organising of this event!

27th Dec 2005    The Annual Christmas Walk

Today was the day of the sailing club’s Christmas walk. The wind was from the north east at about 20 mph, The wind chill was -10o C And the snow clouds were looming ……..A Perfect day for an 8-mile Hike!!

We started from the clubhouse and walked along the seawall. Just as we approached the Sportsman Public house, the heavens open but instead of rain it was snow (well Hail).

By this time, with the Northeast wind we were all cold and damp but regardless we all pressed on.

From here we walked along the sea wall though all the gates to keep the cows out (gate stiles) and past the scarecrow.

By This time we were freezing and quite spread out. We walked on past Castle Coote and up Faversham creek to towards the Shipwrights public house, but on the wrong side of the creek. This meant we were more than half way.

But we couldn’t stop for 3 reasons

1.The pub was closed

2.We had no boat

3. We all wanted to get back to a warm fire and chilli

From here we headed to the end of the footpath where (Out the wind) we took a break to let the ‘tail end Charlies’ catch up.

We then headed back, via footpaths, towards the clubhouse.

There was one field that stood out from all the rest (it was horrible!) the mud was a type of clay which stuck to the soles of our shoes so when we reached the road we were about 6 inches taller than we were when we entered the field.

But it wasn’t that bad, as the last part was on the road, so every one could bang the mud off their shoes. Then as we reached the Sportsman public house we re-joined the sea wall, and walked back to the clubhouse.

During the walk Dave Lincoln stayed behind to cook us some baked potatoes and chilli, which turned out to be a little hotter than expected. However it was very welcomed by every one. So thanks Go to Dave Lincoln for the Food and Lesley and Chris Stafford for organising the walk
